Jojoba oil shampoo is a kind of hair care product that is used to clean the hair while also restoring moisture to the hair to keep it healthy and shiny. It is common for jojoba oil shampoo to be formulated to add moisture to the hair and also to boost the hair's volume. Jojoba oil is a natural product that is commonly used as an emollient in soaps, body washes, bubble bath gels, moisturizers, and even cleansers and lotions for the face. It can also be purchased on its own in a liquid state. In this form, it can be used alone to nourish very dry skin, much in the same way that baby oil is used.

Although jojoba oil on its own could make the hair very greasy and oily, shampoos that are formulated with this ingredient clean the hair without leaving an oily sheen. The jojoba oil in shampoos works to keep the cleansing agents from drying out the hair, which can happen with shampoos that do not include any kind of emollient. In many cases, companies that sell jojoba oil shampoo also sell jojoba oil conditioner that helps to make the hair smooth and manageable.

As jojoba oil is a natural product, it is common for jojoba oil shampoo to be made by companies that specialize in natural hair care products or produce numerous lines of natural products for the body. Sometimes these products are also made with organic ingredients or with a large portion of organic ingredients. These kinds of products are often a bit more expensive than products that are not specially formulated with natural and organic products. A bottle of jojoba oil shampoo can cost about $15 US Dollars (USD) for a normal sized bottle whereas generic drugstore brands of shampoo can be purchased for less than $2 USD. For people who are committed to green, organic living, however, the difference in price might be worth it.

Jojoba oil shampoo is not incredibly common, but there are a number of specialty body product stores that sell it along with other jojoba oil products. Drug stores and pharmacies that have a wide selection of products may carry jojoba oil shampoo and conditioner. There are a also dozens of online retailers, including the websites for some of the specialty stores mentioned above, that will ship orders of jojoba oil shampoo and related products.

@ysmina-- Jojoba oil shampoo is a dry scalp shampoo. Jojoba oil is an amazing oil. It has healing properties and it's a great moisturizer. But it's not going to work for someone who has very sensitive and/or very oily scalp.

@ysmina-- You might want to read some reviews and try another brand because I do not have this problem with my jojoba oil based shampoo. It doesn't make my hair greasy. My hair feels clean but hydrated and soft.

The only downside to my jojoba shampoo is that it's not all natural. It contains many natural ingredients, but it has chemicals as well. I don't know if those chemicals are necessary to get the formula right or to extend the shelf life, but I do feel a bit uneasy when I look at the ingredients list.

I guess jojoba oil is a difficult ingredient for shampoo manufacturers to work with because I was not happy with the last two jojoba oil shampoos I used. They both made my scalp and hair feel greasy and heavy. A good shampoo should never do this.

I usually wash my hair once every two days but I had to wash it every day when I used shampoo with jojoba oil. I don't even have oily hair, my hair is normal, and sometimes dry depending on the climate.
