What Is Hemp Shampoo?

Hemp shampoo generally contains hemp oil, a vegetable oil that is believed to contain a beneficial ratio of omega-3 fatty acids to omega-6 fatty acids. The oil in hemp is said to be easily absorbed by hair and skin, so hemp shampoo is considered an ideal remedy for dry hair and scalp. The hemp oil in hemp shampoo and conditioner products is believed to help reverse hair damage. Many beauty experts recommend the use of a hemp dietary supplement to enhance the beneficial effects of applying hemp oil topically to the hair.

The oil used in hemp beauty products is typically extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant. This plant is believed to have been used for various purposes throughout history. It has been used to make fabric and rope, and it has been used in traditional medicine to make a salve for the treatment of malignant ulcers. The oils of the hemp seed are considered largely beneficial to health, whether ingested or applied topically, as in creams, soaps, and shampoos. Hemp oil in shampoo is said to penetrate the hair shaft, strengthening and moisturizing it.

While many other types of shampoos can dry hair, hemp shampoo is said to be so moisturizing in its effect that additional conditioning agents aren't typically needed. The application of hemp shampoo can, in some cases, restore damaged hair to health. It is also believed to effectively treat dry scalp and enhance scalp health.

Many experts in nutrition and hair care recommend using a hemp oil dietary supplement to further support hair health. Hemp oil is said to contain significant levels of complete proteins and omega-3 fatty acids. Supplementing the diet with these nutrients is believed to help support skin and hair health. Over time, hair is believed to become stronger, thicker, and shinier when hemp oil supplements are used.

The omega-3 fatty acids in hemp oil are said to give it a number of additional health benefits. Ingesting hemp oil regularly is said to prevent Alzheimer's disease, heart disease, diabetes, and inflammatory conditions. The oil is also believed capable of strengthening immunity. The oil is also believed to contain high levels of beneficial vitamins and nutrients, such as magnesium, vitamin E, and potassium. Most people can easily absorb the nutrients in hemp seed oil when it's ingested, making it a vegetable oil of high nutritional value.

@ddljohn-- I love the scent of hemp shampoo. It doesn't bother me at all! I also like that it gets rid of frizz.

@SarahGen-- Don't worry, hemp hydrating shampoo will not give you an oily scalp. At least that has been my experience.

I have been using a hemp shampoo for a few months now. It cleans my hair very well but it doesn't dry it out or leave it oily. The omega 3 in the shampoo leave my hair feeling very soft and healthy.

The only thing I don't like about hemp shampoo is the scent. I like mildly scented shampoos and sometimes the scent of this shampoo is too strong for me. It just smells heavily like herbs.

My hair is very dry but my scalp is normal, bordering on oily. I need to use a moisturizing shampoo to restore some moisture to my hair. I am so sick of split ends and breakage. I've heard a lot about hemp shampoo and I want to try it. But I'm worried that it's going to make my scalp very oily.

Has anyone here used hemp shampoo? Did it cause an oily scalp for you?
