What is Electro Homeopathy?

Electro homeopathy is the science of herbal medicine used in conjunction with the theories of bio-energy. The term itself is indicative of the approach the science takes to treatment and healing: electro means energy, homeo means similar, and pathy means suffering. Guided by four long-revered principles, electro homeopathy involves culling remedies from various nontoxic plants. Electro homeopathy does not utilize electricity in the traditional sense of the word; instead, it employs the energetic element in undiluted botanical concentrations.

This type of homeopathic medicine was first developed in the 19th century by an Italian count named Cesare Mattei. Mattei was a student of various forms of science, and he devised a way to treat patients utilizing the "energy" from plant concentrations. While controversial even in his own time, Mattei's findings generated great interest and were tested on tens of thousands of patients by well-respected doctors; the pope even opened a special hospital ward for electro homeopathy. Despite this acclaim, the practice has been met with great criticism both during and after Mattei's lifetime and, in contemporary society, is practiced by a small group of devoted practitioners.

There are four laws governing the practice of electro homeopathy. Practitioners adhere to this series of principles when treating patients, making diagnoses, developing treatment plans, and prescribing appropriate extracts. The first two guiding principles of electro homeopathy are the Law of Similar, or Complex Complexis Curantur, which states that complex bodies demand complex medicinal combinations, and Complex Remedies, which ensures that each individual will receive the right combination of medicine for his or her condition. The last two areas are Infinitesimal Dose, which signifies the diluted form of a prescribed positive and negative dose, and Selection of Remedy, a diagnostic tool that states that each individual falls under one of four types of body temperament.

In electro homeopathy, plant extracts are designated by color, which is then used to treat a patient. This color coding allows for easier mixture and understanding of the body's condition. For example, a red fluid may be combined with a blue fluid to encourage stimulation, while a white fluid may be used to energize the body. Green and yellow fluids might be combined to alleviate pain.

Patients of this practice cite many benefits of electro homeopathy. Chief among them is the noninvasive approach of treatment. Many also highly regard the all-natural aspect of the healing; no pharmaceuticals or drugs are involved. There are no known major side effects of electro homeopathy.
