To ensure the success of his territory, it's important for an area development manager to hire knowledgeable individuals with a high level of sales expertise. Consequently, this aspect of the job requires a person with sound decision making skills and an eye for talent.

In some cases, he may be solely responsible for training. Other times, he may hire an instructor for this task and monitor the instructor's performance.
