Two of the most common types of garlic potatoes are mashed potatoes and baked potatoes. Garlic baked potatoes are commonly baked with shredded cheese and sprinkled with parsley. A type of casserole dish known as garlic scalloped potatoes is often prepared with creamy ingredients such as milk and butter. Various types of potatoes are used for potato meals, including baking potatoes, red potatoes, and all-purpose boiling potatoes. A healthy alternative is organic garlic potatoes, prepared with potatoes that are certified as organic.

Cheesy garlic potatoes are often baked in the oven with a savory topping of fresh minced garlic and other spices such as fresh basil and paprika, and a layer of shredded cheese. Alternately, small red potatoes may be used for this dish. The center of the potato will be hollowed out and filled with a cheese mixture. This preparation is done before placing the potatoes in the oven to bake.

Oven-roasted garlic potatoes are most commonly made with red potatoes. Most red potatoes are small in size, although some are larger. When red potatoes are small and immature, they are often referred to as a new potato. To prepare oven-roasted garlic potatoes, red potatoes are diced or cubed then coated with vegetable oil. Salt, pepper, and fresh minced garlic will be added to the potatoes, which will be baked in the oven for about 30 minutes.

Garlic potato casserole is typically served as a main dinner entree. For this dish, meat and cheese are typically added, although there are vegetarian recipes as well. To make garlic potato casserole, the potatoes will be peeled, cut into small sized pieces, and mixed with garlic and chicken broth. Other ingredients, such as sour cream, ground black pepper, and Parmesan cheese may be added. The garlic potato casserole is typically baked in the oven.

To make garlic grilled potatoes, white or red potatoes are peeled and sliced, and coated in oil. The potatoes will then be topped with fresh minced garlic, onion, parsley and shredded cheddar cheese. Grilled garlic potatoes may be prepared on a charcoal, gas, or electric grill.

A variation of French fries made with fresh garlic may be shoestring thin or wedged style. Garlic fries may be fried or baked, and ingredients such as minced garlic, sea salt, ground pepper, and olive oil are often used. To give garlic fries a spicy flavor, a dash of cayenne pepper may be added.

Potatoes are one of my favorite vegetables, and this article further emphasizes that. One of the reasons for this is because of the amount of variety potatoes have.

Not only can you cook them in many various ways, but even more so, each potato dish works very well with whatever is the main course, unlike some vegetable dishes which are best eaten by themselves.

For example, if you're interested in making homemade french fries, then they go very well with hot dogs and hamburgers. If you're interested in making potato salad, it goes great during the Holidays. Lastly, if you're into making garlic potatoes, it goes very well with biscuits and gravy. See what I mean?

All in all, while it all comes down to personal preference, I like how well this article focuses on all aspects of cooking garlic potatoes. There's definitely something for everyone.
