One of the best ways to keep the skin healthy, looking youthful, and clear of pimples, is to make sure that the pores are clear. A deep pore treatment can do just this. The two most effective forms of deep pore treatment that can be performed at home are pore masks and facial cleansers that are made with exfoliators.

A pore mask is a deep pore treatment product that is spread over the face, allowed to dry, and then peeled or washed away. A gel mask will turn hard and shiny has it dries on the face. Once it is dry to the touch, it can be peeled away from the face. As it is peeled away, the mask pulls dead skin cells off of the skin and also helps to remove dirt and oil that have built up in the pores. A clay mask also pulls dirt, oil, and dead skin cells out of the pores. It does this as it dries and the detritus in the pores is absorbed into the clay.

Another kind of at home deep pore treatment is the pore strip. A pore strip is a piece of material that is placed on specific parts of the face, allowed to dry until it feels hard like paper mache. When the pore strip is pulled away from the face, it can pull out entire blackheads. This type of deep pore treatment is often more effective than a gel mask but only works on specific areas, namely the forehead, nose, and chin. There are some companies that sell pore strips for the upper cheeks, but these are not as common as the other kinds.

It is also possible to have a very effective deep pore treatment at a spa. One of the most popular kinds of deep pore treatment is microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is procedure during which very fine crystals are sprayed over the skin on the face. The device that sprays the crystals also quickly collects them from the skin. This process deeply cleans the skin, removing dead skin cells and clearing out the pores.

Microdermabrasion has become so popular as a deep pore treatment and as an anti-aging treatment that there are now microdermabrasion systems that can be used at home. Unlike masks, facial cleansers, and exfoliators, microdermabrasion systems can be rather expensive. Whereas the products may cost under $10 USD (US Dollars), a microdermabrasion system may cost as much as $500 USD.
