There are many types of corporate plaques available for companies that wish to recognize the achievements of employees and colleagues. Recipients of corporate plaques generally appreciate this gesture. Corporate plaques come in all types from plastic and clear acrylic to wood, metal, glass and crystal recognition plaques.

For low-cost and versatile corporate plaques and employee awards, there are plastic and clear acrylic models to choose from. Examples of plastic and clear acrylic awards are small paperweights, globes, obelisks, plate, and pyramid shapes. These types of corporate rewards can be engraved with a corporate logo, a date, or name of the reward, and the recipient’s name. In addition, plastic and acrylic plaques can be placed on a desk or mounted on a wooden plaque for display.

There are also corporate plaques made entirely out of carved wood. Wooden plaques are used most often for company presentations of awards to individuals and business colleagues. They are generally made out of various types of high-quality wood, such as maple, oak, or cherry. The wood is carefully carved, treated, and finished with a protective varnish, which makes them last a long time. Wooden plaques are most often hung on walls for posterity, but can also be made into utility pieces such as small boxes to be kept on a desk.

In some cases, a metal corporate plaque may be a solid choice for a company award. Metals such as stainless steel, brass, silver plate, or copper are often used. These metals are formed into a specific shape with information electronically engraved in a small section. Metal plaques are sometimes mounted on a finished piece of wood, or placed within a wooden frame. They may also be mounted on a marble or acrylic base to give more height. Metal plaques can pit or rust if not kept in a climate controlled environment.

More expensive corporate plaques may include those that are made of glass and crystal. These may take similar forms to plastic and acrylic plaques, but are of a higher quality. Corporate awards of this type are often used for employees with many years of tenure, or business professionals who have achieved a very high goal. Crystal plaques may be mounted on a wooden or marble base for added stability. In addition, some crystal and glass plaques may be supported by some type of metal stand or easel.
