There are many different types of citrus facial scrubs that include the vital component of Vitamin C. These facial scrubs can be 100 percent natural, have added ingredients or use several different types of citrus fruits. Facial scrubs can be for women and men, and there are several manufacturers and price ranges available. Depending on the person’s facial skin needs, there typically is a citrus facial scrub that can be utilized as part of a daily or weekly cleaning regimen.

The majority of different types of citrus facial scrubs have Vitamin C, which is an essential ingredient that helps protect skin from ultraviolet light and other environmental toxins. Vitamin C works to convert inactivated Vitamin E into an antioxidant. It also plays a role in reducing wrinkle visibility by boosting the manufacturing of collagen. Other benefits of regular Vitamin C application include creating melanin to reduce pigmentation and helping to reduce the appearance of scars.

Many citrus facial scrubs are mixed with other ingredients, such as almond oil, rose petals, lavender oil, jojoba beads or beeswax beads. Depending on the skin type, there are different types of citrus facial scrubs to help with dry to oily complexions. Some scrubs are made with salt, and some are made with sugar. Both types include the salt or sugar base combined with a blend of citrus oil made from the peel of the fruit.

Some types of citrus facial scrubs are intended to be used as the main cleaning product, and others are to be used after the face has been washed. Users need to read the particular product’s label to understand the daily use instructions. If the facial scrub is more of an exfoliate, which means it has a rough texture to slough off dry and dead skin, the face typically needs to be washed before use. Some people use these types scrubs only weekly, for deep cleaning. Users should research which of the different types of citrus facial scrubs is the best fit for their overall needs and complexion challenges.

Citrus facial scrubs can be made from fruit such as oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, lemons and limes. Each type of fruit plays a particular role in helping the skin. Some people believe that orange oil lightens the skin color and promotes soft skin. Many think that tangerines can create a glowing complexion. Lemons and limes are known to fight acne and blemishes, and grapefruit oil is used to naturally remove any dirt and makeup left behind after washing the face.

My favorite citrus facial scrub is made by Burt’s Bees. It contains orange oil, grapefruit oil, ground almonds, pecans, and oats. It is mild enough to use every day. You only have to use a very small amount of it at a time. You mix a dab of it with water until it forms a paste. Then, you massage it over your face in a circular motion. Leave on for about five minutes and rinse.

I use a lemon facial scrub and it works great. It is really good for people with poor complexions or acne. To make it, you need some almond oil, sugar, honey, and a lemon. Mix the honey and a whole lemon together. Stir it until it is soft but not watery. Add the sugar and almond oil to the mixture. The sugar acts as an exfoliator. Apply the mixture to your face in circular motions. Leave it on for about five minutes and then rinse well with cold water. This mixture is great for oily skin, as well.
