Specific training director jobs offered within different industries sometimes require a director to oversee other training staff members. These types of jobs may be offered within government positions, as well as private corporations, such as banks, insurance companies or other large corporate entities. As such, a training director job description may require a director to engage in specific administrative tasks, such as creating training manuals, hiring new staff members, creating schedules, making key budget decisions and overseeing important contracts. Training director jobs requiring the supervision of other personnel are considered executive positions within most industries.
Some training director jobs do not require an individual to direct other employees, but require directors to prepare individual trainees for a particular task. Jobs like these are sometimes featured by special interest groups, such as political campaigns or community based projects. Although a director would be working on behalf of a business with which a contract has been agreed on, these training director jobs often do not require a director to work on-site. Instead, these types of jobs are often performed remotely from the director’s own business location.
