What are the Advantages of Wind Energy Production?

Wind energy has many advantages. As a clean and renewable source of energy, wind energy production is a popular alternative source for electricity. The main advantage of wind energy is that it will not expire. As long as the sun is burning, the Earth will have wind to harness as an energy source.

Wind is actually a form of solar energy because it is created by a combination of the sun's fluctuating heat, the Earth's rotation, and the different surface terrains found on the planet. Wind energy production works the opposite way a standard household fan does. Instead of being powered by electricity, wind turbines produce clean energy that is converted into electricity.

A wind turbine consists of two or three blades that are attached to a rotor. When the blades turn, the rotor spins a generator, which produces electricity. One of the advantages of wind energy production is that the electricity produced by a wind turbine can provide power for an individual home, a business, or an entire power grid.

Wind is widely available, and unlike oil, does not need to be shipped anywhere. Everyone can have access to wind energy production. Wind turbines also do not use any fuel to produce wind energy. The electricity generated by wind energy production is particularly beneficial to farmers and ranchers.

Farmers and ranchers often live in areas where there is normally a decent amount of wind and have land that they can use for the wind turbines. Wind turbines do not take up much land space and can usually easily be worked around. Farmers and ranchers can either take advantage of wind energy production for their own personal use, or can rent out land to wind energy manufacturers and receive payment in return.

Wind energy production is also highly beneficial for third world countries because wind energy is cheap to produce and there is no cost involved with regards to shipment. In addition to being cheap, wind is ample and wind production cannot be restricted or withheld. Since wind production does not support restrictions, it may provide a more permanent source of energy for poor nations.

In addition to onshore wind energy production, wind turbines can also be placed offshore to benefit from the winds generated over the sea. Despite concerns with noise pollution, harnessing wind is a purely clean source of energy. It also has a very low carbon footprint and generates no air pollution. Wind energy production also diminishes green house gases, because it can replace more polluting forms of energy like oil and coal.
