Toronto, Ontario is a large Canadian city with many interesting things to do. Shopping and all types of entertainment are featured here. The CN Tower, Rogers Centre, Yonge Street, Eaton Centre, The Hockey Hall of Fame, Kensington Market and The Royal Ontario Museum provide great things to do in Toronto for tourists and residents alike.

The CN Tower, located on Front Street in downtown Toronto, is said to be the world's tallest free standing structure. This is a very popular attraction on a clear day because of the excellent views of the city. The CN Tower is also a great sight to see at night because of its attractive lighting. Standing on the glass floor is one of the most popular things to do in Toronto's CN Tower. Rogers Centre is located right near the Tower and has seating for up to 60,000 people for sporting events, conventions and concerts.

Yonge Street separates the east and west sections of Toronto and is said to be the longest street in the world. There are many popular entertainment venues, specialty stores and eateries along Yonge Street. Visiting Eaton Centre on Yonge Street is one of the best things to do in Toronto for those who love shopping malls. Eaton Centre is three levels with close to 300 stores and is connected to an underground walking system.

The Hockey Hall of Fame is also located on Yonge Street and is one of the recommended things to do in Toronto for hockey fans of all ages. This is the home of the Stanley Cup. Many fun hockey themed activities are featured here such as taking slap shots and watching film footage of great moments in the sport. The Hockey Hall of Fame has the largest collection of hockey related items in the world.

Kensington Market is a neighborhood known for its shopping, restaurants, bakeries and cheese shops as well as second hand shops and bars. Located west of Toronto's downtown core, Kensington Market is bordered by Bathurst Street, College Street, Dundas Street and Spalding Avenue. Heading to the Market by streetcar rather than by car is considered one of the best ways to browse the stores as parking here is usually not that easy to find.

Exploring the Royal Ontario Museum is one of the best things to do in Toronto for those traveling with children. The Museum has many creative, interactive exhibits such as the popular Dinosaur Dig. Both permanent and temporary exhibits are displayed at the Royal Ontario Museum. Natural history as well as world history is highlighted at the Museum.

While the Royal Ontario Museum is a great place to go in Toronto, I feel that they need to update it a bit more. Sure, museum exhibits are supposed to be as old as time itself, but on the other hand, new exhibits, fossils, and pieces of history are always being discovered. It's still a great place to go though. It's a perfect example of world and national history, and one of the few highlights of a weekend afternoon.

When in Kensington Market, one of my favorite things to do is go window shopping. Sure, you're not buying anything, but on the other hand, that's not always necessary either. Sometimes it's great to look around at all the wonderful gifts and items.

No matter what city you live in, the best thing is that if you look hard enough, there's always something to do. However, for the most part, that can sometimes depend on whether you live in a big city or not.

For example, if you live in a quiet neighborhood of sorts, it might generally be difficult to find activities. On the contrary, if you live in the heart of Chicago, that's a different story. Between the restaurants, attractions and aquariums, there's never a dull moment.
