How Do I Reduce Deep Set Wrinkles?

Although there is no set, step-by-step process for reducing deep set wrinkles, there are several ways that you can make your skin appear smoother. Certain cosmetic procedures can often give you instant results; however, one of the most important aspects of improving the look of deep wrinkles is to take care of your health, and to eat a diet rich with healthy fats and other nutrients. Using topical treatments regularly can eventually aid in visibly reducing deep set wrinkles.

Injectable fillers can temporarily plump up your skin, giving you a more youthful appearance. These treatments are typically offered by plastic surgeons, and while they do work for many people, there can be some serious side effects depending on the type of filler used. For those opposed to injecting ingredients into their skin, procedures offered by many dermatologists and high-end spas may also improve wrinkles. Dermabrasion can help to smooth out the top layer of your skin, while chemical peels can potentially prompt your skin to produce more collagen naturally, filling in existing wrinkles and delaying the development of new ones.

No matter how artfully you apply cosmetics, creams, or potions, your appearance, including deep set wrinkles, is largely dependent on how well you take care of your physical health. Protecting your skin from sun damage by regularly using products with SPF and shading your skin from the sun is one of the best ways to reduce deep set wrinkles and prevent the appearance of more wrinkles as you age. Smoking can not only deepen existing wrinkles, but also cause new ones to form, as well as make your skin look dull. Quitting smoking, and avoiding places that allow smoking in public, can help to protect your skin from damage. Getting adequate amounts of sleep and maintaining a healthy exercise routine can help to improve circulation and your overall health, which will likely show through your skin.

What you put in your body is just as important as what you put on top of it. Deep set wrinkles are largely caused by a lack of collagen production in your skin. Foods, such as fish, that are rich with healthy fats, and foods like dark chocolate, fruits, and vegetables that contain high concentrations of antioxidants will give your body the nutrients that it needs in order to keep your skin looking plump and youthful.

Other than taking excellent care of your entire body, several beauty products can help to reduce the look of deep set wrinkles if used on a continuous basis. Products that contain a large amount of retinol, a type of vitamin A, have been found to reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles significantly. Apply a product that contains this ingredient, and is suitable for your skin type, once a day, preferably at night. While you sleep, your skin works to repair itself, and topical treatments for deep set wrinkles are typically most effective when applied at night to freshly-washed skin.

@rundocuri- You should ask your friend if she has checked into all of her options for eliminating her wrinkles before she has her surgery. Don't assume she has all of the information she needs to make the best decision for her. You may save her a lot of money and from undergoing a major surgery.

@rundocuri- If your friend has deep set wrinkles, she probably is making the best choice to get rid of them. When wrinkles are deep, other procedures such as facial peels, dermabrasion, and fillers simply do not work very well. A face lift is the only procedure that will remove the excess skin that is contributing to the problem.

I have a friend who is planning to have a face lift to get rid of her deep set wrinkles. This seems drastic to me, especially since there are so many other options available for reducing and eliminating wrinkles. Should I suggest she try another option that is less invasive?
