The best way for you to go about choosing the best pore cream is to browse your local store and read the labels of the creams they have available. You should also consider what you need the pore cream for. There are lotions and moisturizers which help keep pores small, and others that can shrink large pores. Other creams are used for unclogging pores and preventing acne breakouts.

Once you have determined what you need the pore cream to do for you, browse the selection in your department or cosmetics store. Read labels carefully to ensure that you are purchasing products developed for your specific problem or needs. Keep in mind that different creams are made for different skin types. If you have oily skin, you should avoid creams that have added oils or excessive moisturizers because this could cause you to break out.

After you narrow down the pore cream options to the ones that are made to treat your specific problem, you can choose which to purchase based on several factors. If your are on a budget and price is an issue, you should consider pore creams based on price. Choose the least expensive option first, and then try the more expensive brands if you do not get the results you desire. Other factors you may consider are brand names, fragrances, and ingredients — especially if you have sensitive skin or desire a specific ingredient.

The only way to determine which pore cream is the best for your skin is to try various options and note the results. Be sure to give each option at least a week for take effect before you decide it doesn't work. If after the week has passed you are not happy with the results, purchase a different cream and try again. Be sure you only try one cream at time so you know which is providing the best results, and to ensure that if you have an allergic reaction, you know which item is to blame.

If you do not find the pore cream you want in a store, there are various creams you can create in your own home. Many natural ingredients, like avocado, have been shown to shrink pores and cut down on inflammation. You can try these methods first to save money, or use them alongside a more conventional cream. For issues that are severe, you should consider seeing a licensed dermatologist to find out if a prescription strength pore cream is a better option for you.

I went to my dermatologist because I had severe acne. He gave me a medicated cream that doubled as a pore reducer.

He said that I could use it for up to three years to keep the acne away and keep my pores from enlarging. Since I was about to hit thirty, this was great for me. Many of my friends' pores got bigger when they entered their thirties.

I didn't even go to him seeking help for pore reduction, but I'm glad that this is what I wound up with. The cream kept my acne under control, and it kept me looking younger for several years by tightening my pores.

I have to use a sensitive skin pore cream. Any sort of fragrance or harsh ingredients will irritate my skin to no end, so I have to be really careful about what I buy.

The fragrance-free creams usually smell a little funny. This is because there are no pleasant scents to disguise the truth about how the ingredients smell. I'd rather deal with a little bit of odor than have irritated pores, though.

@healthy4life – There are some cosmetic stores that let you return items if you aren't happy with them. You should try shopping somewhere like this. Just buy one cream at a time and return it if it doesn't work.

That's how I found the perfect organic pore cream. It took three tries, and the store didn't give me any problems about returning opened and used items. This is their policy.

Also, some beauty product companies will send you free samples when you order something from them. Maybe you could get some free pore cream samples this way.

Trying out several pore reduction creams sounds expensive! The ones that work the best are usually pricey, and I can't afford to buy several and see which ones work.
