To become an electrician, you will need to satisfy certain professional requirements. If your goal includes working as an electrician for a living, it is important that you find online electrician classes that will help you work toward that end. Classes should be organized in a manner that will move you forward to your ultimate goal. If you are interested in online electrician classes for personal knowledge only, you can ultimately choose from a variety of subject areas to match your specific interests.

Regardless of your goals, if you want to find the best online electrician classes you should look for those that are professionally organized and have knowledgeable instructors teaching them. Often, you may be able to find teachers that are currently working as electricians or have done so in the past. Course materials should be clear and easy to understand so that you are able to get the most from them.

One important aspect of online electrician classes is access to help when you need it. Each school should have a clear policy stating when and how you can contact teachers and how long they usually take to respond to an email or other request for help. Often, in the best classes, a request for help is answered promptly, and there is a way to escalate your request if it doesn’t get resolved quickly. Some online schools have teachers that keep regular office hours, and during these times you can either speak with the teacher directly or use a chat system for immediate help.

When considering which online electrician classes are best for your needs, price is typically a factor, but it should not be all that you look at when making your decision. Make a careful evaluation of what you are getting for your money. Look at such things as the overall length of the course, what is covered in the lessons you are purchasing, and what else you will need to buy in order to reach your goals.

Classes may vary in price, depending on the program. Be sure your class includes everything you need to complete at least a basic level of training; some include the tools you will require to begin working in the field. Take all of these things into consideration when deciding which online electrician classes are the best for your particular needs. Be sure to contact the school with any questions you have before signing up, and always ask about their refund policy in the event that you should be unhappy with the course once you receive it.

WiseGEEK is dedicated to providing accurate and trustworthy information. We carefully select reputable sources and employ a rigorous fact-checking process to maintain the highest standards. To learn more about our commitment to accuracy, read our editorial process.

I have an issue with my laptop. When it is charging at my house, the trackpad is sporadic and doesn't respond correctly. However, when I am at work it seems fine. I have also found that this is true even if my laptop is plugged into a GFCI outlet that is turned off.

I thought it was a grounding issue, so I used a surge protector with a missing ground prong and it appears to work OK. The unit works fine on battery power. It is almost like I have feedback coming over my ground or my ground is hot.

I am really not sure, and have not noticed any other issues with any of my other electronics. I heard it could also be RF interference, but can not make sense of how it would be Radio Frequency Interference only when it is plugged in, even into a dead turned off GFCI outlet unless RF is coming across my wires.
