When choosing the best natural cures for GERD, you should consider the cures that will be easy for you to use on a daily basis. You should also choose options that give you the most relief from acid reflux symptoms. The best choices for natural cures for GERD may include roots, foods, and drinks. You may have to use a few different cures before finding the one that works best for you.

One of the best-known herbs for treating acid reflux is the ginger root. Ginger root absorbs stomach acid, helping to prevent the acid from rising back up the esophagus. It can be taken in many different ways, including ginger candy, tea, and even capsules. Ginger capsules can be found at most natural food stores and can be taken as directed.

Apple cider vinegar may be one of the best natural cures for GERD. Organic apple cider vinegar can be found in any grocery store. Adding 1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) to a small glass of water will help to keep the heartburn away. It can be consumed before, during, or after eating and is an inexpensive, natural treatment that can be used daily.

Everyone should be drinking plenty of water throughout the day for health reasons, but people with GERD should be sure they are getting enough water. Water will dilute the stomach acid that brings on the symptoms of GERD. It is recommended that you drink 64 oz. (1.8 kilograms) of water a day. It is best to drink water with your meals and to have a glass right after eating.

Natural cures for GERD can also include a few types of teas. Chamomile tea has been known to help with acid reflux and many people enjoy its flavor and calming effect. Lavender tea can also relieve reflux symptoms. These teas can be sweetened using a small amount of sugar or honey for a better taste.

Changes in your daily diet can also be a treatment for GERD. You may want to try adding more fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet while avoiding acidic ones such as tomatoes and oranges. Lean meats and whole grains are also good choices for someone with reflux issues. It may help to reduce the amount of fatty foods you eat such as sugary cookies and greasy foods.

Among these natural cures for GERD, you may need to change some habits or eliminate some things from your life. Smoking and drinking alcohol can increase the symptoms of acid reflux and you may see a difference by avoiding them. Carbonated beverages such a soda pop can also cause harm to someone with these symptoms. It may be best to eat several small meals during the day instead of large ones and find ways to reduce your life stress.

Aloe Vera gel twice daily. I'm amazed this article missed one of the best natural remedies for GERD. I have full column acid reflux if I don't take aloe every day. Almonds and papaya are very helpful too.
