Choose the best face cream for scars by first consulting with a dermatologist and asking for recommendations. Using research tools, such as books and medical websites, you may also be able to determine which kinds of ingredients work best in treating scars. By visiting skincare forums and blogs, as well as asking people you know who have used face creams, you may be able to determine which types of face creams work well in lightening blemishes and scars. When choosing face creams, think about selecting products that offer moisturizing benefits as well as sun protection.

Depending on the type of facial scarring you have, different treatment options may be recommended. It may, therefore, be a good idea to consult with a dermatologist to determine which treatment method is best for you. In some instances, a prescription face cream for scars may be necessary, and in others, an over-the-counter remedy may be adequate. Consulting with a dermatologist may also give you guidance on how often a cream needs to be applied, as well as an approximate time frame for when you should begin to see results.

Modern technology makes researching different scar removal creams possible. Printed books and magazines that feature information on skin care may also offer advice on treating scars. Spend time researching the pros and cons of using a face cream for scars and the active ingredients in various creams, as well as their side effects. You may find that some facial creams come with strong precautions and it is important that you are aware of these prior to choosing a face cream for scars.

If you know other people who have successfully used a face cream for scars, you may want to ask questions about which creams worked best for them. Skin care blogs and Internet forums are also a good place to meet other people who may have experience in using a face cream for scars. When looking for advice or testimonials, however, target unbiased opinions. Seek advice and recommendations from people who do not work for a company that makes facial creams or who are not in any way compensated for their opinions.

A face cream for scars may help lighten and remove scarring, but good skincare is still important. With this in mind, you may want to consider creams that help moisturize the skin while healing it. Skincare experts also recommend using products that offer protection from ultraviolet sun rays, which can cause severe damage to the skin.

This might sound weird but the scar cream that my doctor recommended for me contains onion extract in it. I bought the cream over the counter and have been using it for a little over a week. It's working really well and my scar is half the size it was last week. There are other ingredients in the cream as well, but onion extract seems to be the active ingredient.

@ZipLine-- Vitamin E is excellent for scars. You can use the cream to fade scars, but make sure that the cream has a good percentage of vitamin E. Generally, the more vitamin E the cream contains, the better.

You could also purchase vitamin E oil and add it to your face cream. Vitamin E oil is sticky, so mixing it with a cream will also make it easier to apply.

I've been using vitamin E oil for scars and blemishes for years. From my experience, vitamin E fades most blemishes in just a few weeks if it's used daily.
