For many little girls, a big magical wedding is a fantasy that is carried over into the adult years. Getting married at Disneyland is the perfect way to combine fairytale romance with elegance for an enchanted wedding. If you get married at Disneyland you have the option of many different fairy tale style themes that all take place in elegant settings such as magical rose gardens or Cinderella’s castle.
You can get married at Disneyland at one of three locations; The Disney Park itself, the Disneyland Hotel or Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. The Disneyland Park wedding provides a castle setting with a ride in Cinderella’s coach to the awaiting groom in the castle. The Disneyland Hotel is set in a private rose garden with the wedding ceremony taking place in an enchanting gazebo. The Grand Californian Hotel and Spa provides three options of an outdoor garden wedding or one of two ballrooms all of which are set in early 20th century era décor.
When you get married at Disneyland you are lavished with the same details as fancy traditional weddings held elsewhere including flowers, cocktail hour, gourmet hors d'oeuvres, delicious main entrees and entertainment such as a DJ or classical performers. Other Disney specific features are also available such as classic characters like Minnie and Mickey Mouse in wedding attire and similarly themed extras.
Disneyland has extended its wedding packages to non traditional couples and now offers the opportunity for homosexual couples to get married at Disneyland. The same sex commitment ceremony is performed not only at Disneyland but also Disneyworld located in Florida and on Disney’s cruise lines.
Before you get married at Disneyland you are required by state law to have a California marriage license. If you do not reside in the state of California, make sure you leave extra time for planning to ensure you have all the necessary legal documents.
